I may have mentioned before that since we got to our site we have had a lot of time on our hands, and we like to come up with projects to keep ourselves busy. Here's one-- after emptying (and thoroughly enjoying) a can of cherry pie filling sent from Ohio, I spent a few hours poking nails through it (and occasionally hammering my thumb) to make a luminary. The one side has a map of Salone with our town highlighted, and the other has a map of Ohio with Dayton highlighted. Aren't we cute?
